An absolutely fabulous person!
Remembering former President Dame June Whitfield and her Somerset friendships.
The Trust remembered Dame June Whitfield, who died on 28 December 2018. June was a close friend of Frankie and Dennis and visited them in Cross, continuing to see Dennis after Frankie’s death.
She became a patron and later President. The 2021 announcement set out the intention to name the Hub’s activities room in her honour.
That connection continues in the Dame June Whitfield Centre, officially opened in April 2026.
Based on the Trust’s original announcement.
