The SWORD Fund, Bristol
October, 2007On behalf of the Committee, we wish to acknowledge your magnanimous donation of £150.00 for The SWORD Fund. Please find enclosed an ‘Order of Service’ of the Bristol War Veterans’ Commemoration Service held at Clifton College. This is an annual commemoration service held at the college, where much of the planning for D-Day was executed. Previously, this has been for the Veterans of D-Day and the Normandy Campaign. Our Committee decided this year to include ALL Veterans of all the campaigns. In consequence, this necessarily extended the numbers we usually cater for. Each event relies on the generosity of Bristol businessmen and this year it was extremely successful. Your kind donation will be used for the event of 2008. At the very next opportunity of media publicity, it is our attention to make known your generosity, which has made it possible for this Committee to continue with the above annual event. We will be in touch with you next year and perhaps you may wish to attend the Commemoration Service as a VIP guest. You would be extremely welcome. Thank you again very much.
