THANK-YOU NOTES
Open days and charity events at Wavering Down House and Gardens have so far raised more than £75,000 for good causes.
Highlights at Frankie Howerd’s former home in Cross, near Cheddar, Somerset, UK, have included:
An Up Pompeii party
A concert with The Wurzels
A classic car rally
Opera by singer Tim Pitman
Jazz in the Garden
Tribute bands Abba 2 Bjorn Belief and Kings of Queen
Many charities, primarily in the South West of England, have been helped by money raised at these events.

Somerset Association for the Blind
September, 2006I write to thank you both most sincerely for giving permission for our local charity to use your home and gardens for the Pink Picnic event. Although I was disappointed not more people attended, I believe everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and, judging by the comments in your visitors’ book, you made many people very happy by allowing them access to Frankie’s home. I have enclosed details of my expenditure, as you so very kindly allowed me to retain the gate money. We did not make a profit but we certainly feel happy that more people in the Mendip area know about our charity now! Look after yourself both of you — you are very special, and we hope to meet up again one day.
