January, 2008Re: Frankie Howerd Garden Open Days
May I offer our thanks for your donation of £1,000, which has been dedicated to the new classroom and galley extension. So far we have raised £12,500 towards the project, which has an estimated cost of £45,000. Clearly your donation makes a significant contribution towards that target. May I thank you both for your continued support and hope that you will continue to do so.

Re: Frankie Howerd Garden Open Days
I have not seen you for some months and have therefore been unable to keep you informed of what the Unit is doing with the monies raised by the Garden Open Days.
2005:
Monies raised by the provision of teas £485.10
Donation from overall funds raised £500.00
Total £985.10
This money was used to improve the Unit’s buildings. The boathouse roof was repaired and the door replaced with a larger one in order that our rescue boat could be out of the weather and in a secure storage.
2006:
Monies raised by the provision of teas £198.80
Donation from overall funds raised £700.00
Total £998.80
This money was dedicated to our new extension, which is a three-year project to provide new classroom space, better storage and a larger modern galley. The estimated cost of this work is £40k. The money raised from the Garden Open Days is therefore a significant contribution towards this sum.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to be involved in your fundraising activities for local charities.

On behalf of Burnham & Highbridge Sea Cadets, may I thank you for your generous donation of £500. We are in the process of extending the cadet building in Burnham and intend that the money raised will go towards providing the extra facilities needed. Our association with you and Wavering Down House has been a lot of fun and I hope it will continue. I think Frankie would be proud of you and your support of local charities.
